Our intentions are the core essence of all our thoughts, wills, and actions. They are what truly define its outcome & prove its legitimacy.
The scholar ibn Qayim {may Allah have mercy on him} defined it best, when he said: “It (intentions) are the head of all things. It is-its basis, and the foundation of which things are built upon. Intentions are the spirit of all actions. It is what commands and drives actions. All actions dependent and rely on it. So much so, good actions are defined by good intentions. Likewise, bad ones are defined by its intentions. Pure intentions attracts prosperity. Without it, failure is inevitable. And it is because of our intentions, there will be a (massive) disparity in people’s levels in the hereafter.”
